So we’ve been home all week with a virus. It’s just a fever, and so far just Miss C has it. She’s eating a little, drinking water and juice like nobody’s bidness and watching a whole hellava lotta TV.
I feel bad about the TV but I have to work. I’m lucky I have the flexibility to telecommute when my daughter gets sick. I know a lot of people don’t have that option.
C has been going from being kind of chill and just layin on the couch to clingy and wanting hugs to crazy and climbing on my head.
On the plus side, her doc says these viral fevers can last 3-6 days… so if nothing else we’re at least halfway through this… and while she doesn’t seem that ill, I still can’t send her back to daycare until she’s fever-free for 24 hours.
We’ve also gotten to watch Beauty and the Beast for the first time, and she really liked it. And we’ve had lots and lots of extra snuggle time.
On the negative side, I’m going a little nuts. Or maybe I’m catching what she has. Or maybe I’ve just had it with sass today.
I want to go back to the office and talk to adults. Wah.
In other news… as usual, life is busy. Work has been crazy busy… which is good… just crazy.
I have to get my tax papers together for next week. I have to get other receipts together for my FSA plan.
Photos: We did a new photoshoot of C with our wonderful photographer, Kris Rupp. She called me today to set up an appointment to review the images and I can’t wait to see them!
Juicing: I’ve been doing this but I want to do more. Right now I’m trying to have at least one fresh veggie-fruit juice a day. I want to do a 3-day juice fast but I have to get my shizat together.
Failing: I saw this article and thought it was share-worthy, especially because I really need to try to remember this as I help a frustrated C trace letters on her Leap Pad game.
Boobie Beanie: I also have a couple pregnant friends and I saw this and though OMG I have to get one of these for them…
Chop-It-Up Veggie Salad with Tahini GarlicĀ Dressing: I want to try this. I still have not had the chance!!!
Tofu recipe, as promised: This is the marinated and seared tofu recipe that I promise is AMAZING. Thank you for sharing this, Megan of Butzi + The Bee.
Until we meet again….

Feel better my darlings! Urg, end of Feb colds are always the worst. Beauty and the Beast is a pretty rad disney movie, what with Belle being a pretty fierce lass.
Rest up and get well soon! x
Thanks Eth! Oh she is feeling better today. Climbing all over me… I’m trying to work and it’s a little difficult =P… but hey, check out the tofu recipe! That’s the one I was telling you about!!!!
Good to hear she’s getting back in fighting form! :)
Also, that recipe looks AMAZING. Holy smokes, I am salivating at those photos…
Love your update! Hope Ms C is feeling better soon!! š
Thank you Love! She is feeling better… fever broke yesterday afternoon but because of the 24-hour rule I had to keep her out today as well. Trust me though, she is feeling better… joking, good mood, etc…and she is right now tracing letters on her leap pad game =) and looking at me so proud of herself when she does it all by herself….
Such a great photo! Sorry the crud has found you too. It has been a rough winter all around I think.
Thank you! I’m just thankful we haven’t gotten the norovirus… that’s been going around too. I’ll take a fever over that any day!
Great post :)
Thanks Paulie!
Your photo is adorable. I hope you’re better – I did get that norovirus and it was awful.
Thank you! Yes, we’re all recovered… I sent her to daycare on Friday only to be called at noon and told she had to be picked up because her fever had returned. WTF!?! But she woke up Saturday with no fever, and it has since stayed away…. Sorry you got Novo’d! That stuff is NO JOKE! =(
